Filipino boxer Neshty Petecio is assured of winning at least a bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics.
This was after Petecio scored a unanimous victory over Yeni Marcela Arias Castaneda of Colombia in the women’s featherweight division quarterfinals match Wednesday morning at the Kokugikan Arena.
Petecio will advance to the semis where a victory catapults her to the gold medal match.
The Philippines won its first gold medal in the Olympics in 97 years on Monday courtesy of weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz.
